Get in touch

Trade-ins on your schedule, not the customer's.

SpineLit is a trade-in intake platform for used bookstores. Customers scan their books at home, you prescreen the lot, and the counter appointment only gets booked once you have sent an offer.

How it works

One loop from a box of books at home to a booked slot at your counter.

1

Customer builds a Trade-In

On their phone, they scan barcodes or type ISBNs. Titles and covers fill in automatically. A lot is 25 to 100 books or games.

2

You prescreen the lot

Every item is checked against your buy rules and your own sales history, so you see what is worth taking before anyone drives over.

3

You send an estimated offer

The customer gets a text or email with your offer. They see "accepted" or "not this time" per item, nothing more.

4

They book the counter

Only after an offer, they pick one of the appointment slots you have opened. You control the queue.

Built for the shop, not the app store

Your name, your customers, your rules.

For owners and staff

  • A review queue of incoming lots, ranked so the good ones come first
  • Buy rules: want lists, categories, price floors, cash and credit rates
  • Set the appointment hours and how many slots you will take
  • Check customers in at the counter and see the day's calendar

For your customers

  • Their own portal at yourstore.spinelit.com
  • Scan with the phone camera, no app to install
  • Offers and reminders by text or email, their choice
  • No standing in line to find out you will not take the books

Questions

What kinds of items work?

Books first, identified by ISBN. Games and other barcoded items are supported by UPC. Board games use metadata only and are priced by hand.

Does my store get its own address?

Yes. Each licensed store gets a customer portal at its own subdomain, such as yourstore.spinelit.com.

Do customers need an account?

They sign up once with an email address so their offers and appointments stay attached to them.

How much does it cost?

SpineLit is licensed to stores. Get in touch and we will talk through your volume and what you need.

Ready to stop the unannounced boxes?

Tell us about your store and we will set up a portal for you.
